COLREGS Apps and Websites for Practice Recognition of Vessel Navigation Lights

The video below provides a review of a free app available for Android phones and tablets. It is called "Vessel Lights". There appear to be equivalent apps for iOS but they are not free.

There are some websites that provide practice on lights, shapes, or both. Some American websites will mix rules for COLREGS and Inland Rules (U.S. rules for national waterways like the Mississippi River). So be aware of that.

A test (that includes other aspects of the COLREGS) is available from ProProfs.

SailTrain in the UK has a test on lights. A nice thing about this site is that there is no confusion about Inland Rules, as you may encounter at U.S. sites.
